Hello Friends and Family ~
It's a GORILLA! We are excited to announce our newest bundle of joy -- a baby boy gorilla, born on December 8, 2008 at six pounds.
It's been a decade since a baby gorilla was born at the San Francisco Zoo and we are proud to be a part of the amazing conservation efforts taking place, through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan.
We look forward to introducing you to our baby boy and hope you'll come visit us in-person at the Jones Family Gorilla Preserve. Our little one is not out with the family troop for everyone to enjoy, but you can see him being cared for by our wonderful keepers on a new nursery cam that is just outside our exhibit.
